Lorena Quintanilla’s journey as J. Zunz continues with a new release on Rocket Recordings, her first since 2022’s album ‘Del Aire’.
‘Re:Volver’, a four track EP that brings together remixes of tracks taken from J. Zunz’s two previous Rocket albums, ‘Hibiscus’ and ‘Del Aire’. The remixers include Petbrick, Gnoomes, Mildred Maude and Adiós Mundo Cruel.
“I’m super excited to finally share this EP.” Lorena said “This project is all about creativity and collaboration, and I’m honored to have some amazing artists from various corners of the globe on board. They all have been, in different ways, a part of my musical journey.”

The EP begins Petbrick’s reworking of one of ‘Hibiscus’s stand out tracks ‘Four Women And Darkness’. Petbrick’s Wayne Adams and Iggor Cavalera take the stark repetitions of the original and throw them through an Aphex Twin filter, creating something very otherworldly and unexpected.
Fellow Rocketeers, Gnoomes have tackled live favourite ‘Lineal’ from the album ‘Del Aire’ – the Russian (now based in Slovenia) duo have created an incredible remix of mellifluous repetition built on pulse-like synths that gather to form a luscious sweeping panorama.
The psychedelic shoegaze band from Cornwall, Mildred Maude who are Sonic Cathedral label mates with Lorena’s other band Lorelle Meets The Obsolete have reworked the excellent ‘Horizonte’ from ‘Hibiscus’ into a minimal, but highly addictive electronic groove.
Finally we have Adiós Mundo Cruel’s techno remix of ‘33:33’, which was the second single to have been released off of ‘Hibiscus’. Adiós Mundo Cruel (real name Pablo Dodero), is a musician, writer, and promoter from Tijuana, Mexico currently residing in San Diego. His thumping new version of the track takes the claustrophobic psychedelia of the original and represents it for a sweaty, basement dance floor.
